Tel Aviv Museum of Art
24 October 2014 – 21 February 2015

The retrospective exhibition “David Yannay: Architecture and Genetics” shows works by David Yannay (1935–2006). A ground-breaking architect, Yannay began developing digital methods for architectural design already in the 1970s, alongside a design theory based on genetic models. The exhibition presents his many projects—among them the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research Center and Beit Halochem, both in Haifa—as well as his theories.

The exhibition also features contemporary work that further investigates the topic “Architecture and Genetics” today, including the ICD project Integrated Urban Morphologies (F. Krampe & C. Voss, Institute for Computational Design, 2011). The opening on 24th of October was attended by 1500 guests.
