ArchiLab 2013: Naturalizing Architecture

Created in 1999, the objective of the internationally renowned ArchiLab exhibition series is to be a true laboratory for architecture, presenting the most advanced research in terms of architectural creation.

Curated by Marie-Ange Brayer (Director of FRAC Centre) and Frédéric Migayrou (Deputy Director of the Centre Pompidou, MNAM-CCI) the 9th ArchiLab exhibition entitled “Naturaliser l’architecture / Naturalizing Architecture” features projects by 40 leading architects, designers and artists that work at the overlap between computational architecture and the sciences.

The exhibition includes the HygroSkin Pavilion by Achim Menges in collaboration with Oliver David Krieg, Steffen Reichert and ICD as well as the ICD/ITKE Research Pavilions 2010 and ICD/ITKE Research Pavilions 2011. The work by Achim Menges / ICD / ICD/ITKE is the only German contribution to this avantgarde event.

The exhibition will be opened by the French Minister of Culture on 5th September. The public exhibition period is from 14th of Sept 2013 to the 2nd of February 2014 at the FRAC Centre in Orleans, France.
