The Imaginarium: A Theatre for Constructed Ecologies

As a travelling cabinet of curiousities and interactive research laboratory The Imaginarium acts as discursive exhibit and performative platform within the main exhibition, devoting itself to the highly topical subject of ecological change caused by intervention into existing ecosystems. It is doing this from the point of view of people who create buildings, who confront the natural world with the built world in an open and thoughtprovoking dialogue. Against this backdrop, The Imaginarium aims to expose some of the major contemporary processes that evoke, drive and control the changes and challenges we are facing today, in a creative archeology of thoughts and inspirations. This conglomeration of ideas is further expanded by a number of diverse inspirational objects contributed to the exhibition by leading figures from the world of architecture, art and science.
